Snorkeling by night
When night reveals a different side of the sea.
About two hours before sunset, we leave La Paz for the calm waters of Playa Muertitos–El Saltito, approximately 45 minutes from the city lights.
After watching the last colors of sunset, we enter the water with lights to discover nocturnal marine life. As the sun disappears, behavior changes: some species retreat while others become active, revealing an ecosystem very different from the one we see during the day.
Nights close to the new moon create a particularly special atmosphere. Under the right natural conditions, tiny planktonic organisms may light up the water with flashes of bioluminescence as we move.
After snorkeling, we return to the beach for a picnic under the stars, away from city lights, with time to contemplate the sky and listen to the sea. An intimate experience of exploration, quiet and wonder.
